Which wines can you discover?

The area around Verona is incredibly rich in wine traditions. Here are the local wines you might want to discover with us:

Valpolicella
This is one of the most famous red wine areas in Italy, located just north of Verona, in the rolling hills that lead to the Lessini mountains.

Here, native grapes like Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella are used to create a variety of vines:
– Valpolicella Classico: light and fruity
– Valpolicella Superiore: aged for at least one year, more structured
– Valpolicella Ripasso: richer, made by passing the wine over the dried grape skins used for Amarone
– Amarone: full-bodied and powerful, made from dried grapes
– Recioto: a sweet red wine, also from dried grapes, traditionally served with dessert

Soave
Produced east of Verona, in the hills around the medieval town of Soave.
This white wine is made mainly from Garganega grapes. Soave can be fresh and light or more complex, depending on the vineyard and aging. Perfect with fish, vegetables, and delicate dishes.

Durello
Grown in the Lessini hills between Verona and Vicenza, this lesser-known sparkling wine is made from Durella grapes.
Crisp, mineral, and refreshing, it’s an ideal alternative to more famous bubbles.

Custoza & Lugana
These two white wines come from the southern part of the province, near Lake Garda.
– Custoza: a blend of several grapes (including Trebbianella, Garganega, and Fernanda), aromatic and easy-drinking
– Lugana: made from Turbiana grapes, elegant and balanced, with great aging potential

Bardolino & Chiaretto
Produced on the eastern shores of Lake Garda, near the town of Bardolino.
Made with Corvina (as Valpolicella), Rondinella e Molinara grapes, Bardolino is a light red wine, while Chiaretto is the local rosé, fresh, fruity, and perfect for summer.
